1.. How old are you and what state do you come from? What was your past occupation ?
I'm 54, Came from Florida. My past occupation was airline sales and services .
 
2. Why did you choose to live in La Union?
I moved to La Union, which is North of Luzon because I was tired of the bar scene in Angeles City.

3. What is your daily routine during the day?
Golf, pool, swimming, snorkeling, VFW meetings, Bar-hopping (occasionally), seeing the sights.

4. What are the costs of living, daily, monthly, annual?
Cost of living:
5000 pesos for a nice 3 bedroom house.
2000 pesos for electricity ( I use a lot of electricity)
$2000.00 a month and you are KING!

5. Have you always planned to retire in the PI?
I always thought I would retire in Asia, since Filipino's love Americans, I though this would be a good place.

6. Are you in the Philippine Retirement Program?
No Philippine retirement plan.

7. Do you miss the US?
I don't miss the U.S. very much. I have satellite TV,and all the creature comforts that I would have there.

8. Do you get bored?
Boredom is a personal choice. There is always something to do if you want to stay busy.

9. What are your goals in the future?
My goals are to be happy in my retirement. No stress, just fun.

10. Dreams?
I think we all dream to be happy ,healthy,and of course financially stable.

11. What advise can you give for expats who want to live in PI?
My advice to expats that want to live in the Philippines . Make sure you have a stable monthly income. You will need to learn to have a lot of patience with the traffic ,bureaucracy,and have put up with the pollution in most major cities. Remember to drink lots of water while you are here ,as you will dehydrate. Beer is my favorite drink ,but water is essential. Drink only bottled water.When in public, watch your wallet ,and cell phone. Your money is a favorite of thieves here. When shopping in open markets ,make sure you barter to get the best deal

12. How long have you been in PI?
I first came to the Philippines in 1967. I moved here 2 years ago.
